Indeed, this project exemplifies the global action, a new phenomena of global reach beyond the national boundary. Clearly, to sustain the Peace school's operation, it requires conscious effort of many to recognize its symbolic significance, namely, a project (or school) belongs to everyone. It's Xmas season, walking down the mall, large crowd, shoulder to shoulder, whose consciousness will not go beyond personal range, mostly. Watching the endless TV and radio ads, when we take our break in the food court, I recognize that the mass medias are where the masses get their interests on purchasing and expending on merchandise. In contrast, Givology et. al. are internet phenomena, relying on intellectual advertisement and clearly, it will not reach to the mass, those walking in the mall for example. However, the awareness of environmental challenges such as global warming, and the need of developing Africa have reached a global level of recognition that gradually will prompt for actions. While you observe and participate in Uganda, I wonder where the students will go after Peace school. Besides Joanita's family, I wonder if it's part of their culture or custom to focus on education in general, probably not. Education goes beyond trade school learning a trade skill for example; even for families who focus on education, majority of them still focus on bringing out lawyers or doctors etc., few appreciate the developing mind, conscious of itself, as a value. Learning excites mind, and it brings out a lot of fun if a teacher can properly leads the way. However, for kids, now I remember your early days, is natural to play as learning. I understand the difficulties and challenges Joanita faces, but I applaud her action, just do it, with all means.
